Who we are
FFL Helper (“we”, “us”) operates the website fflhelper.com. We publish flight-fare comparisons for travelers in the United States. This policy explains what information we process, why we process it, and the choices you have.
This notice is meant to cover U.S. state privacy laws (including the California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA), the EU/UK GDPR for visitors from those regions, and advertising disclosure rules. It is not legal advice.
Information we collect
We do not ask you to create an account. We do not collect payment card data. Booking happens on third-party sites after you click a ticket link.
- Server logs: our host records IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer, and browser user agent. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention, and to keep the site running.
- Consent cookie: if you use the cookie banner, we store your choices in a first-party cookie named ffl_consent (and a backup in localStorage). That cookie is necessary to remember your preference.
- Information you send us: if you email privacy@fflhelper.com, we receive your email address and the content of the message.
- We do not currently run our own analytics pixels, advertising pixels, or social plugins on fflhelper.com.
How we use information
We use the information above to operate and secure the site, remember cookie choices, respond to privacy requests, and improve the static pages we publish. Fare tables are built on our server from travel-data partners; your browser does not send your name or email to those APIs just by viewing a page.
Advertising, affiliates, and ticket links
FFL Helper is an advertising-supported comparison site. “Search tickets” and calendar fare links are ads. If you book after clicking, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Those links send you to independent booking or search sites operated by our travel affiliate network and their airline or OTA partners. We do not control those sites. They have their own privacy policies, cookies, and ads. They may collect device data, search details, and booking information directly from you.
The outbound URL can include a publisher identifier so the partner can credit a booking to FFL Helper. That identifier identifies this website, not your name. Clicking a ticket link is your choice. You can use the site without clicking those links.
Cookies and similar tech
Our own site uses a small first-party consent cookie after you set a preference. We self-host fonts, so viewing FFL Helper does not load Google Fonts.
If you later allow analytics or advertising cookies in the banner, we may use them for measurement or ads. Until you accept those categories, we do not set non-essential first-party cookies and we do not load analytics or ad pixels.
Third-party cookies can still appear after you leave FFL Helper, on a partner booking site. Details are in the Cookie Policy.
Do we sell or share personal information?
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not run cross-site advertising pixels on FFL Helper today.
Under California law, “sharing” can include using personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not do that on our pages. Sending you to a partner after you click a ticket link is a referral you initiate; partners may then advertise to you under their own rules.
If you send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale/share and we keep analytics and advertising cookies off. You can also use Privacy choices.
Retention
Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations, then rotated by the host. Consent preferences are stored for up to 180 days, or until you change them. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request and our legal obligations.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know, access, correct, or delete personal information; to opt out of sale or sharing; to appeal a denial; and to complain to a data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To make a request, email privacy@fflhelper.com. We may need to verify you control the email used in the request. Authorized agents may contact us with proof of authorization. We aim to respond within 45 days, or sooner where a stricter law applies.
Children
The site is for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.
International visitors
The site is hosted in the United States. If you visit from the EU, UK, or another country, your information may be processed in the U.S. Legal bases we rely on include legitimate interests in running a public website, consent for non-essential cookies, and performance of a request you make (such as an email).
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page will change. Material changes will be posted on this page.
